How to Earn Klout Perks

I have been a Klout enthusiast for some time now. I can’t help but excited about the freebies that I consistently receive via their complimentary “perks” program. Just today I received a $29 value hard cover photo book from Shutterfly.com as a perk! I’ve also gotten 2 free bottles of wine, a box of business cards, a leather portfolio, $20 in free jewelry and several other freebies in the past 6 months. Did I mention each only took me a few minutes to redeem? And most were totally free?!

Here’s how Klout/Klout Perks work:If you haven’t created a Klout account yet, you can do so in a matter of seconds. Simply visit Klout.com and sign in with Twitter or Facebook.

Tip: You’ll want to earn “klout” for as many of your social profiles as possible (go to “settings”, then “connect networks”), so be sure to connect Faceboook, Twitter, Google+, Your Blog, Youtube channel, Instagram account and others. Each only takes a minute or two, and it will help you earn a much higher score. Worth the time, because those with higher Klout scores get much better Perks offers!

How to Earn PerksPerks are typically offered to those with an influencer-level Klout score. My Klout score at the time of this post is 56. I’ve found that with a score at or above 50, I have plenty of perks to choose from. That said, there are many offers for various Klout scores, so don’t get discouraged if your score isn’t around 40 or 50 yet.

Essentially, you may earn perks by simply being active on social networks! Companies recognize the power of social media, and know that you tweeting or facebooking about a new product or special offer they are offering will result in more sales and brand awareness for them.

Where to Find PerksTo check your perks, visit Klout.com (or the Klout app) and click on “perks” (also seen above right). You may also find perks in your notifications. It’s worth checking your notifications since some of the perks have limited quantities (meaning that even if you qualify, you can “miss” the perk if you don’t move on it).

The best part? Klout itself requires very little effort on your own! You just need to do what you do best on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. The rest happens naturally once you’ve created your account.
